About Sophia Homoeopathic
Medical College
Sophia Homoeopathic Medical College established in the year
2002 to cater the needs of homoeopathic students. The College
is recognised by Centre Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi;
Medical Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal; Higher
Education, Govt. of M.P., Bhopal and affiliated to Jiwaji
University, Gwalior.
The College is founded under the dynamic Chairmanship of Mrs.
Manjeet Bhalla, an educationist and social worker. She has
been conferred with many awards for her outstanding work in
the field of education.
The Advisory Committee of the Institution consists of eminent,
highly professional and outstanding personalities. One of
the founder Members of the College Dr. J.S. Khanna is known
for his innovative work and his contribution in the development
of homoeopathic medicines in India is remarkable. he is also
the National President of Homoeopathic Medical Association
of India and senior member of C.C.H. (Central Council of Homoeopathy)
from the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The College offers B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine
& Surgery) a five and half year degree course, including
one-year compulsory internship. The college has its own building
with well-equipped Anatomy & Physiology Lab, Pharmacy
Lab & well stocked Library.
The College always endeavors to meet the aspirations of the
students, thus keeping them fit to meet the challenges in
life. In the race to win each of them needs special care and
guidance, which is fulfilled by our highly professional and
dedicated faculty members.
ACTIVITIES
In order to promote overall development and efficiency of
the students, seminars, symposia, cultural activities, indoor
and outdoor games are arranged. Competition and contests are
held at different occasions. Study tours, excursions, pleasure
trips etc are also organised.
National Service Scheme (NSS) : Jiwaji University has sanctioned
N.S.S. Unit for this College comprising 50 students from the
session 2006-07 onwards. The students can participate in rural
uplifting programmes through N.S.S.. There will be addition
of more 50 students in coming session and is under consideration
for sanction.
